Labbra Rosse Sempre / Red Lips Always (Italian, published in 1913)
This is an original painting on Antique cotton pages from a book I purchased in Italy. The pages measure 13x9.5 and they come mounted on an 11x14 board ready to be framed. ( I didn't want to mat them because it would hide the edges of the paper).
The writing is in Italian and the book was printed in 1913. It's a commemorative book on G. B. Bodoni (1713-1840) who was one of the early creators of fonts. His original font "Bodoni" is still used widely today along with manual others he created. The pages are cotton paper and the binding is handstitched. I love the quality and condition of this book and the subject as I have always loved writing, letter styles and truly appreciate beautiful fonts!
There's actually a museum dedicated to him in Parma, Italy.
